Flood Prevention, Recovery & Redevelopment
Mission: Advance federal-state-county-local level advocacy support for communities immediately and historically negatively impacted by flood prone areas that are impounded by ongoing increased risk due to failing infrastructure surrounding waterways (i.e., dams, reservoirs, rivers, creeks, bridges).
Goal: Advocacy support for and research on historical and ongoing constituent calls for infrastructure inspections, flood-prevention and restorative public works projects, with considerations for establishing and implementing national standards on dam inspections, federal inspections and related mandates, private dam permits, and risk mitigation.
Flood Control Caucus is currently focused on recovery and redevelopment following Hurricane Helene & Milton, plus February Floods related devastation.
